Located in San Francisco's South of Market district, SOMA Park Inn is a completely nonsmoking motel offering rooms with free WiFi. This motel is conveniently located 9 minutes’ walk from San Francisco City Hall and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Each guest room includes a flat-screen cable TV, a microwave and a refrigerator. Ironing facilities and free local calls are provided. Vending machines are conveniently located at the motel. The 24-hour front desk provides around-the-clock guest assistance. Fax and photocopying services are also available. SOMA Park Inn is just 10 minutes' drive from Union Square. Hosting entertainment events as well as the San Francisco Giants baseball team, AT&T Park is 15 minutes’ drive from the motel.

Affordable comfort but location isn't for everyone.
- What did you like most?The exterior of this hotel looks dated and shabby, so we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and amenities of our updated room. There is a (slow) elevator we used to get to our third-floor room -- very welcome! Office staff was friendly and helpful, although we did have some communication challenges with one individual whose English seemed a bit shaky. There is a courtyard parking area and we were able to get a space ($10/night), but it looks like a first-come, first-served operation so I'm not sure you are guaranteed a space. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel or just up the block, depending on which way you are traveling. We found that very handy. The rail station to catch a train to Airport is about two blocks away, which is partly why I chose this hotel.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Be aware that this section of Market Street is a center for unhoused individuals. We had no problems whatsoever, no one even asked for money, but not everyone might be comfortable with this kind of up-close encounter with urban homelessness. Other than that, location was within walking distance of a number of coffee shops and restaurants, and a short bus ride takes you to SF Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and several other museums as well as many more restaurants.
